Day twelve was my turn to sleep in, I handed the baby to Fred at 6:30 and returned to my bed for a luxurious lie in until 8am.  Fred is getting on much better with the baby, so that’s great.

We headed upstairs for coffee.  Helen had obviously already had hers as she was feeling all inspired about building a fort for the children.  The weather was horrendous again so we needed some indoor activities to get through the day.  Helen and I got the fort project going and then Fred took over.  The children went inside, fought with each other and then seemed uninterested in the whole thing which is strange and disappointing because children usually love forts.

Once Jethro went down for his nap, I did some Youtube drawing tutorials.  I drew a siamese cat and Sponge Bob Square Pants and then Jethro woke up.  I am really struggling with his naps at the moment.

The morning lacked any real structure.  Fred was inspired very early on in the day to make butternut soup and bake bread.  He disappeared downstairs with his ingredients and we didn’t see him for a good few hours.  In the afternoon, I went to go and check on him and he was stirring a pot and watching an action movie.

The kids had followed me down and the movie was violent so he had to turn it off.  What followed was a two hour dance party.  I even put on leggings and a sports bra and counted it as the day’s work out.

The dance party got us through most of the afternoon, we then resorted to Peppe Pig which got us to supper time.  Unfortunately, Fred’s bread was a flop so all that he had produced for all his efforts was a soup.  The soup was however delicious.  Butternut soup is always a tough one with kids though.  On one hand you want them to eat it because it is made from a vegetable, on the other hand it’s bright orange and sloppy.  Baby Rose enjoyed the soup and insisted on eating it with her fingers.
